How to add an authenticator to a Google account
Open two-step verification, scan the setup QR and confirm a code. Clear labels help when you use several Google accounts.

Go to your Google account's security settings and open authenticator setup under two-step verification. Add the QR or setup key to your authenticator, then enter a generated code back at Google to confirm.

Choose the right Google account first
Open the Google account page through a known route and verify the active account. With several accounts in one browser, enrolling the wrong account is an easy mistake.
Work or school accounts can be controlled by an administrator. If the expected method is unavailable, check organizational requirements instead of treating a personal-account tutorial as an override.
Open 2-Step Verification and add an authenticator
Use the security and sign-in settings to reach two-step verification and its authenticator option. Names and placement can change; follow the live official page.
When setup material appears, add an entry in your chosen authenticator with an unambiguous service name and account alias. Do not treat screenshots of enrollment material as ordinary tutorial images.
Enter a code to finish setup
Return a fresh code to Google's original setup page. Scanning successfully and having Google accept the credential are separate steps.
If rejected, check the account and device clock first. Repeatedly regenerating enrollment material while keeping every same-named entry makes it harder to identify the active one.
Save recovery codes and set up everyday access
Review the backup methods in your Google account, save recovery material, and make sure it is reachable without your phone. Keep existing sessions available while trying a normal login after setup.
In Authenticator Cloud, enable Pro sync after enrollment is confirmed. Sign into the same account in the app and extension and complete a sync to get codes on your phone or computer.
